Understandably, most of us don’t have the kind of time that is needed to give our home a well-planned makeover. A few changes made around your room can be a great mood lifter. Bring out the child in you. The happy, floating colors will take you to another world and you might fall asleep that night with the smile of a child! So think different… turn your world upside down, take a rug from the floor to the wall or right up to your ceiling!  Some just like you must adapt to changing times, seasons and fashion, so must your home. And you will see that others notice the changes too. Welcome your guests to new look. Not only will it be appreciated, but you will find them complimenting on things that were always there, but are only now being noticed. Here are some ideas to change a whole look of your sweet home:

Freshen up your home when you are expecting guests:
1. Fresh flowers can work wonders with their natural bright colors. If there is a corner you don’t know what to do with or don’t have time to neaten up, just place a large flower vase with a bunch of colorful flowers and that’s it.
2. Another natural way of adding color is to place a large glass bowl of fresh fruits on a fresh smelling and clean table cloth. Fresh fruits of the season are very appealing and make guests feel very welcome.
3. Changing cushion covers and adding a throw, bright ones for a dull room, and subdued colors for a bright room brings about an instant change.
4. If you have clutter lying around or a dumping spot where you just empty out your pockets when you walk into the house at the end of the day; collect it all and put it into a nice cane or rattan basket or a tray to give it a character.
5. Aroma candles and essential oils will give your home a pleasant and inviting ambience and aroma. Put one or two drops of oil onto a light bulb in a lamp so that the fragrance fills the room when it is lit and as it heats up.

Make changes in your home to make it look warmer for winters:
1. Change your soft furnishings to warmer and more solid shades of color to create a warmer surrounding. You can also layer your furnishings by adding a runner over your table or adding a valance to your window treatment.
2. You can re-arrange your furniture to create new seating arrangements that are closer together, nearer a focal point, for cozier evenings or to catch the sunlight as it changes direction.
3. Bring out the carpets and durries to place under your feet. Place throw rugs casually over armchairs and sofas, on which you can cuddle up with a book whenever you wish.
4. Make lighting warmer, for a softer glow in the evenings. Candles create a soft, warm atmosphere, which is romantic as well.
5. Bring out large rich-colored mugs to sip coffee and tea from. Put out some nuts and cakes on the table for winter is the time to enjoy these.

Some last touch up of framing your home:
Personal touches a remarkable change. Most of us love to sit and sift through old photographs of childhood, school days and old friends and there are always some favorites among them. Get your favorite pictures blown up to poster size, frame them and put them up on your wall. A collage of old pictures is always interesting and leads you down memory lane with old friends.
This is the way of making your surroundings more interesting and lively. This will give you and your home a fairly fresh look.
