If you love posing for the camera or clicking photographs, then you probably have dozens of photos of yourself friends and family. So where are those photos now? They must be gathering dust in a drawer or a shoebox. Don’t let them be out of sight, out of mind. There are plenty of innovative ways to display your creativity.

Crystal clear: A coffee table with a glass top is a terrific spot to display your most cherished photos. Remove the glass laid the photographs on the table top in whatever way you like. We suggest you place them different directions for a unique look. You can also add dried flowers ferns for better effect and style. Once you’re done, place the glass top over the collage.

Using mirrors: Another way to display your photographs is by using mirrors. All you need is a piece of mirrored glass, which is available at most stores that sell window glass or slabs of plain glass and some simple imagination. Have the mirror cut to fit a frame size of your choice. Using a single-edged razor blade, scrape away the mirror’s black backing create a “window” of clear glass for the picture through. The “window’ can be of any shape and size, and you can either choose to smooth the edges or leave them rough. Tape your picture to the back of the glass and voila! It’s ready. For it to stand, you will have to take it to a frame maker who will drill a hole in the centre, at the foot of the frame, push a screw through one end and turn the nut behind to tighten it. This way your mirrored frame will stand tall!

Crafty cardboard: If you have old books or journals with hard cardboard covers, now’s the time to put them to good use. Cut a cardboard in the shape of your choice-hearts, circles, diamonds, boots etc. once that is done, cut out a circle in the centre of the cardboard and place the photo there. Use the cut cardboard to cover the photo from the back. Decorate the frame with shells, beads, buttons, coins or anything else you find in your craft box. Now you can either make a stand using another piece of cardboard at the bottom, or stick a photo magnate (available at most stationary shops) at the back and place it on your refrigerator.

Use of old CD’s and DVD’s: Stop throwing away old or corrupt compact discs (CD’s). Instead, take the CD’s and glue your photos on the shiny side. You can also cut them in geometric shapes if you want. Use colored tubes like fairly to make designs or write or write funny quotes next to the photos or leave them just as they are. Make a few these and with the help of a penknife make tiny holes on top of the CD’s. String them together with a ribbon or some colored wool, twist the thread into a loop and hang it on the wall.
You can also, make your near and dear ones in front of you all the time. If not in person, have them in print. Get your photos transferred on a coffee mug, personalized calendars, decorative plates, T-shirts etc. You can do this at any local gift store at an affordable price.
