So you were not served breakfast of your choice? Your car tyre got punctured while you were on your way to work? You left the important papers at home which you needed for the presentation so much needed for the promotion? We all have them, the occasional day from hell, when everything goes as wrong as it possibly can. What do you do? You can either call it quits or take a couple of minutes out to recharge your batteries; all it takes is a little ritual, something that is quick, relaxing and can be practiced just about anywhere. So the next time you need a quick high, take a deep breath and try out some of these rituals. Trust me they work and they are fun to do!

1. Make your daily bath a tension reliever.
Lavish, care and pay attention on every part of your body, right from where you’re stressed out, tired tootsies and up to your pounding scalp. Use your best bath oils and creamiest soaps. As you wash yourself, imagine you are washing away all your tensions and stress. Keep repeating "I am happy" in your mind, until you actually feel rays of happiness spreading through your body.

2. Get a song of your own.
A song brings back associations of the moods involved when you first heard it. If it has a positive memory association, the song can immediately lift your mood.

3. Indulge yourself.
You are the most precious person in your life. Whether it means buying yourself sexy little number, or that oh-so-yum pastry that sends your blood sugar through your brain, or sending yourself a bundle of blooms, indulge yourself, taking time out to do something to cheer you up, can positively brighten your day.

4. Take a walk.
Walking is the greatest form of exercise and requires almost no equipment, apart from comfortable shoes. Take deep calming breaths of fresh air while you walk. When you get walking, your entire body has to focus on that, rather than on what has gone on during the day.

5. Let your imagination fly.
Close your eyes. Visualize a place that's so beautiful, you would give anything to be there. And then transport yourself there in your
mind. Feel free to add whatever makes this place complete and be sure to visualize yourself there, enjoying the beauty of it all. A few minutes in your private getaway can recharge your batteries for the day.

6. Pen it down.
Writing down something that's bothering you automatically helps you put your problems into perspective. Tearing it up then breaks the karmic chain and your association with the problem, setting you free. Well, maybe not really, but for the moment, you will feel that your problem has been symbolically demolished. When you put a problem down on paper, you will find that it is really not so scary and insurmountable.

Follow these and get through a day from hell...without a temper tantrum!
