Avoiding Boredom During Vacations Rated by 1 users
By: J.K., In Games & RecreationHits - Today: 41, This Week: 0, Month: 0, Total: 0Updated: Sunday, October 07, 2007 Here are summer vacations for children, with hot days and long evenings. These vacations are at the corner. Exams are over and mothers are free, exhaustion of whole year, homework, tuitions, and early morning tensions busy evenings late night sleeps, all are over. But of course there are too many options like summer camps, crafts classes, drawing classes and many other vacations classes like this. But the question is-can a middle class family spend hundreds of rupees just to kill time? So here are some tips for those mothers who want to keep themselves as well as their children busy and at the same time save money too.
• Make a timetable. In the beginning, children sleep, get up and eat whenever they want. This is Ok in the beginning but later on you should fix the time for all these things and spent according to the plan. This is no hard and fast rule but just to make time for everything.
• Make him do the craft work. For example, you can make a poster, a painting or a letter holder for your drawing-room. Keep a aside a week for doing this thing and then make out the list for all the things needed in doing this craft work. You can also include your kids in making this list so that they will help you out, and enjoy them being a part of these things instead of following your orders.
• Plan a new dish everyday. Let them be simple dishes which children relish like noodles, making salad, making fruit chart, puddings and cake. Engage them in simple chores like beating, mixing and chopping. This will be very fruitful for the girls who are at adolescence. Do not forget to praise them at the dining table.
• Help children to make a few things which they like and are useful to them like pillows stuff with sponge in different shapes. Or for smaller children, you can make with their help toys, like bears and rabbits. Let your daughter to do some simple embroidery or do some cross stitch she can easily do on her own.
• Make them do the reading, because this is the habit which parents must cultivate in children from an early age. This is a thing which will be fruitful throughout their life. But one must take care, not top force this habit lest children should find it boring. Do not thrust books on them. Make it as a pleasurable activity by providing them books of their interest. Provide them with interesting comics, and if smaller children are sitting with you, read aloud with expressions, be patient and answer their queries while they read.
• Make them a little social. Once in a while allow them to play also with other children of friends and neighbors; it will be better if you allow them to play in your own house rather than outside. This way you’ll be able to keep an eye on them.
Do not stop them if they are awake for the movie with their dad or want to spend some time with their dads at night. Allow them an hour of video games also. Don’t get upset if they get bit late in the morning. After all, these are holidays for them only and let them enjoy also.
