Sometimes your best intensions and efforts at maintaining your skin and its texture could actually be doing your skin more harm than good. If your skin is feeling taut and dull even after following a regular beauty routine, you may be doing something wrong, which is why we came up with some blunders women unknowingly make when it comes to skincare.

• Not using sunscreen: The most important thing is the use of sunscreen and one has to choose a sunscreen than has UVA and UVB blocking properties. It is very important to make sunscreen a part of your routine as it keeps your skin from drying, and prevents sunburns, pigmentation, premature ageing and wrinkles. To include applying sunscreen to your daily routine, keep your sunscreen with your toothbrush and toothpaste and apply it after brushing your teeth.

• Irregular cleansing routine: If you don’t maintain a regular cleansing routine, it could lead to clogged pores and probably even breakouts if you have oily skin. If your skin is not cleansed on a daily basis, this exposure to pollutants could build up and cause discoloration, dull skin and uneven tanning. Hence prevention is better than cure. An ideal cleansing routine would include washing your face, followed by toning and moisturing.

• Washing your face with soap: It is better to avoid as they are harsh and leave skin dry. Body shampoos and washes are better than these traditional soaps. Also it is important to be gentle with your face and it is best to avoid soap and better to use face washes. Face washes are formulated in such a way that they cleanse effectively but leave the natural oils of the skin intact.

•  Harsh make up removal method: Removing all your make up before you retire to bed is one of the best things you can do for your skin. so experts suggest, using of cleansing milk with a softy tissues gently clean your face and finally with warm water and face wash.

• Not using under eye cream: The skin around eyes especially on your eyelids is the thinnest and one of the most sensitive areas of your body. Therefore experts recommend the using of creams and under eye gels with firming agents. Keep the creams in the refrigerator for a cooling treatment.

• Not drinking enough water: Your skin is the outer reflection of your inner health. Apart from being a result of a serious skin care routine, a clear, glowing complexion also comes from eating a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water. Because water flushes out toxins from the body and helps maintain skin moisture and oil balance.
