Do you wait till the night before your gateway to throw a bunch of things into your suitcase? Check the last minute hassle. The key is to pack intelligently and take all your essentials. Buying stuff can turn out to be expensive. Save cash for shopping, not to buy forgotten necessities.
Prepare a list of the things that you have to pack, prepare etc. remember leisure trips can be quite an ordeal if you don’t pack right.
Here are some tips:
• Absolutes: Toiletries are the things that you ideally would not miss. At least that’s what you think. You wouldn’t want to kick start your holiday hunting for a toothbrush or a razor. Though most resorts do provide a toiletry kit, the products can vary like some may provide a moisturizing lotion, and shampoo, while others may provide a shaving kit. So it’s better to carry the bare necessities to be on the safe side.
• Baggies: Resorts do provide laundry bags(usually made of paper), but do carry your own for wet laundry, as in damp face cloth, etc. so that your fresh clothes don’t get soiled.
• First aid kit: A must if you’re trekking, bungee jumping, rock climbing kind, and especially if your little pranksters accompany you.
• Couture trouble: You don’t want to wear your short little number and freeze to death. Check the weather forecast in advance, and sort your clothes accordingly. But it’s better to stay o the safe side and carry emergency clothes as well, as in jacket, or woolen clothes. Carry an ample supply of lingerie, so that you don’t run out or even save some part of the day just to wait for the laundry. Sort your lingerie; put yours in bag, your kids in theirs, to avoid the pre shower confusion.
Carry basic black trousers, and a pair of jeans, so that you can mix and match with different tops or blouses, and lighten the load. Plan your clothes according to the days of your stay so as to curb stock piling luggage. If you’ve decided to hit the beach and indulge in water sports, must haves are your swimwear sarong and a cool hat to keep the sun at bay.
• Cosmetics: You can go in for products that are pocket sized. They’re easier to carry in your handbag and therefore need no extra storage space in your already clothes cluttered luggage. Go in for travel kits with body and skin care products, basic moisturizer, night cream, sunscreen, cleanser etc. they usually come in help pouches, which are very portable and stylish.
• Footnote: You surely don’t want to go trekking in your six inch stilettos. So carry sneakers for all the action, stilettos for romantic dinner, and rubber slip on for when you hit the beach.
• Across the borders: If you’re going abroad, make sure your passports, visa, foreign currency, tickets and travelers cheques are all safely packed in one separate bag. Carry photo copies separately.
• And the rest: Suntan lotions, insect repellents, flash lights and so on.
Pack away to a relaxed and fun filled holiday.
