The trend of beauty saloons is not an old one. We all want to look beautiful and some very intelligent man commercialized this desire and beauty parlors and saloons were all over the place. There are treatments for everything, from giving a lift to your face to volumes to your hair. Earlier people were not very cautious about their looks and due to media influence and other factors, everyone wants to be perfect in looks department and we don’t even mind these highly expensive beauty treatments and so much time involved in them. Here are some tips which will save you the green stuff and time and will work equally well to your looks.
1. EYES: You get up in the morning and your eyes are swollen. Drink a glass of water to fight dehydration, and then place a cool compress on your eyelids for a few minutes. Yoga stretches or a few minutes of cardio also helps as it will increase your circulation, which helps shrink swelling.
2. HAIR: You are going out and you think your hair is looking oily because of shine spray. Sprinkle a little cornstarch or baby powder to absorb excess oil, then comb or paddle brush. The alcohol in the spray will dry it up and provide a little lift. Don’t do this with pump sprays, which can go on too thick and yield gummy results. Cover hair with steam towel or blow-dry it in plastic wrap for a quicker result.
Apply a small dab of conditioner or sunscreen to dry hair; it will help weight it down. Coconut oil is a good substitute. But remember, these are emergency solutions and are not meant for regular use.
3. NAILS: Paint on a coat of olive oil, baby oil or vitamin E oil to your nails or any vegetable oil works to restore luster and shine to a less-than-fresh manicure. Let it sit for a few minutes. Use a damp towel to push back the cuticles, and then clean under the nails with an orange stick. Finally, wipe off excess oil, and feel free to type or twiddle without worrying about wet polish. If you have toes with yellow or thick nails, file down surfaces with an emery board.
4. PIMPLES: Whenever there is a big event, they arrive without invitation. Apply an astringent mud mask on the area to help dry it out. A mud mask makes a pimple less juicy. Rinse with really cold water, which constricts tiny blood vessels to minimize redness.
5. SWOLLEN FACE: A steamy shower helps taking care of the swollen face. Heat increases blood flow to the skin’s surface, plumping up the crease. Massage your face with moisturizer and rinse with warm water. Learn to sleep on your back, not on your stomach, by slightly elevating the head of your bed.
