• Pop your cork:
Go into the garden with a can of fizzy drink, shake it really hard, then open it, says an expert. Because this act will surely makes you laugh and also forget about the whole bloody deal.

If you are angry, bare your teeth and shake your fists, or if you are fed up, slump your shoulders and frown, says an expert, who is the coordinator of the happiness project. This is externalizing negative feelings. Studies show that it also helps you get rid of them quicker.

Most bad moods at work come from being overloaded, so hang a sign with: ‘Beware-foul mood’ around your neck, says professor of psychology and health at Lancaster University. Someone’s bound to cheer you up, plus it might stop people giving you more work.

• Take a breather:
Bad moods are usually the result of things that have happened or things we think will happen. By focusing on the present, you escape these thoughts, says the author of ‘weekend life coach’. It’s easy, when you breathe in, think in and when you exhale think out. It’ll clear your mind.

• Picture this:
Think of a time when you felt on the top of the world, says life coach sally Morton. Remember the details, what you could hear, see and smell. Be creating a vivid picture of a happy time, you will unleash a rush of happy hormones.

• Have a giggle:
Laughter is the best antidote, says an expert of the London laughter club. Get yourself going by imagining a tiny giggle in your belly growing and moving up into your chest and throat, getting louder as it does, then throw back your head, open your arms wide, and let it escape with a big gusty laugh.

• Think of shoes:
Planning a shopping trip triggers the same high as actually melting plastic. Thinking about where you are going and what you will be buying creates and anticipation and boosts your mood.

• Use your nose:
Smells have the power to change the way we feel in an instant. So hunt out your favorite smell, go to a bakery or a florist or a florist and inhale deeply.
