Every day a new mobile is coming into the markets. And each mobile is equipped with different technology. Blue tooth really made news when it was first introduced in Sony 610 and Nokia cell phones and today every phone has to have a blue tooth.  We all use the Blue tooth technology but very few know that this system was adopted by the king Henry Bluetooth for passing information in his domain when mobiles were not even thought of. Well that’s a different story. There are so many technology terms being introduced in the mobile world today which may be difficult to hear but read on to make sense of it all

1. Advanced Audio Coding (AAC): It is one of the most demanded and widespread audio code for the digital, Internet and wireless arenas. This audio encoding compresses music much more efficiently and with greater clarity than older formats such as MP3, which is an uncompressed audio format.

2. Assisted GPS:
GPS systems or receivers basically calculate the positioning of an object or a location by calculating the latitude and longitude of the same from a satellite. Assisted GPS improves the performance of GPS systems receivers by providing them with infor-mation or data that would have to be downloaded directly from the GPS satellites. With A-GPS data, GPS receivers can operate faster and more reliably. All GPS-enabled handsets and mobile wireless devices benefit greatly from A-GPS data.

3. Bluetooth:
A technology that allows you to send information from one device to another or connect with Bluetooth accessories without wires. Unlike Infrared, in Bluetooth the two devices need not be in line of sight, and can actually be within 10 meters of each other. However, the kind of information that can be sent differs from device to device.

4. Genera Packet Radio Service:
By this you can access the Internet on your, phone or even access it on a PC, using the cell phone as a modem, allowing users to surf the internet on their phones or PCs. To enable GPRS on your phone, contact your service provider.

5. Data rate for GSM Evolution:
is a faster way of accessing the internet on your cell phone. It can theoretically deliver data at 384 kbps, which is almost three times the speed of conventional GPRS. This allows the delivery of multimedia and other apps requiring greater bandwidth to mobile phones. However, EDGE is not available in all areas.

6. HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access):
It is a step ahead of 3G and is popularly known as 3.5G. It provides speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps while downloading and 5.76 Mbps while uploading. At present, there are no HSDPA networks in India.

7. Advanced Audio Distribution Profile:
It is a feature that allows high quality stereo audio to be transferred from a cell phone to a pair of stereo headsets.

8. Digital video broadcasting-handheld: A technology by which terrestrial broadcast signal are transmitted to your phone.
