Cracking The Interview Obstacle Rated by 1 users
You might have cleared CAT or some other important entrance test by months of preparation and hard work. So what is next? The challenge lies in clearing the interviews and GDs( group discussions). Once the student gets the interview call, the stress level in them start increasing with the passing days of January. The student strategy is now focused on interviews and mock group discussions and personality development. While you are getting prepared for the main day prepare yourself not only mentally but also get yourself master in the witty manner on the subject for those rapid fires by the interviewer so that you flatter your smartness and get yourself a seat with ease.
1. Keep the Positive Attitude: Stay focused on the subject all the times. Get familiar with the all sides of the subject. Keep a positive attitude towards the subject. Don’t always see criticism in the discussion and use the right words. Present yourself as the right choice for the selecting panel.
2. Know the Questions Well: Keep your mind open and clear. Never answer the question half way asked. Know the question well before answering them. Some questions are open ended questions or tricky questions. So let your smartness not become over smartness and go against you. Answer the questions with the right words. In case of not understanding the question properly, do not shy to ask the question again.
3. Keep your cool and stay balanced: Don’t get over excited, answer the questions in a normal manner. Sometimes in excitement one tends to answer the question wrong even when one knows the right answer. Keep your cool even if you answer wrong and stay balanced with a smile on your face, face the next one.
4. Be honest: If you don’t know the answer of any of the questions asked, tell them straight forward and not trying to reason up why you don’t know as this could go against you. Remember that not knowing the answer is not a fault but misleading the panel is definitely is.
5. Maintain the Eye Contact: During the interview, maintain the eye contact with the panel. Don’t answer with your head down. The panel is not only watching your intelligence but also your body language. Face the questions confidently.
6. Answer quickly: Present yourself as the right choice in front of the panel. Answer quickly and don’t pro long your answers. Question asked in the interview should be wrapped up in maximum a line or two. Answer the important side straight forward.
7. Couple your answers with examples: Couple your answers with examples especially the why and how ones. Examples reflect your awareness and it reflects the quality of integrating the subject with other things for growth. Try to use as many examples as you can.
8. Be presentable: Be presentable implies to dressing up decently but don’t overdo it and be too loud. Not only your exteriors count but use the right language also reflects your attitude. Remember that striking the right balance between the mind and the language will definitely get you through.
