Living room, as the name suggests, adds life to the décor of your home. So you have a limited budget for the living room, don’t worry as with little bit of creativity, you could give a dazzling look to your living room and then, everyone will ask you the secret or the address of the interior decorator you consulted.

1. It is very important to know that for what purpose, the living room is used. Is it for your family use or for special visitors? Is it used for the specific purpose or just for comfort? Do you have to accommodate more visitors or less people? More people will need more moving space. All these facts are to be considered for making the rough format for the décor of the living room.

2. It is not necessary that you use heavy sofas as furniture for the living room. You can also use light cane furniture with low size centre table with the glass top.

3. If your budget does not allow you to get into high price furniture then you can lay down mattresses on three sides with ethnic bed sheets over it and in the centre one can keep the low square size traditional painted table (Rajasthan look). This will create a very ethnic look.

4. If your living room is L shaped, one can use glass or wooden partitions.

5. Choose the right colors for the living room as colors can really add to the look of the living room. Choose the wall color matching or in contrast to the furniture. Don’t use very dark shades in the living room, though a combination can be used.

6. Instead of the tube lights or the chandeliers, use the lamp shades in the corners.

7. To give a particular style to the living room, decorate the corner in that particular style. For instance to give the traditional look, one can use the corner with artifacts like Ganesh idol.

8. Use rugs in an innovative way. They look very good even on walls.

9. One can also use indoor plants in designer’s plant holders and keep
in the steps or in the corners of the living room.

10. Use colorful glass bowls and fill it with marble bits. One can keep it on the centre table.

11. Use different size and shaped candles and keep it at odd places in the living room like near the window or on the centre table or anywhere you like.

12. Add difference to the regular flooring of your living room by using wooden tiles in the centre.

13. You can give a trendy look to the ceiling of your living room. Get a geometrical deign done on it and fix the electrical bulb in such a way that whenever the bulb is on, the designs shadow should reflect in different angles.

14. Use different shape cushions on the living room furniture.

15. Give extra attention to the drape style you use for the window panes of the living room.

16. Avoid using heavy chandelier in the living room, instead go for glass shades.
