Ramsetu-Another Political Issue Rated by 1 users
Ever since the Setu Ocean has come in the highlights, the SETU has become an issue. The strange thing is that the Setu Hindu parties are trying to save naming that RAMSETU is not even mentioned in the Ramayana by Valmiki. The only Setu mentioned in his Ramayana is Nalsetu which was made by Nal.
Naming this Nalsetu as Ramsetu is an insult to Maharishi Valmiki’s knowledge. If any kind of Ramsetu ever existed it would have been mentioned in the Ramayana. If it was to be called Ramsetu, it would have been mentioned in the books telling the story of Ramayana. It is just the issue made for self interests by today’s politicians who have not even read Ramayana themselves or have deep knowledge about the subject. Beside the name there are so many rumors spread as voting strategy which has no relation to the facts mentioned in the Ramayana. One of the false statements is that whenever Nal tried to put the stone in the ocean it used to float and this statement has no place in the Ramayana written by Valmiki. Others say that animals like bear; squirrels etc were also involved in making the bridge which is another fictitious story. In the Ramayana, only monkeys have been described in the making of the bridge. According to the Ramayana this bridge is 1288 kms long but today the bridge is only 30 kms so the question arise where is the rest of the bridge? Where is the wood or trees used for the construction of the bridge? Are they same as today? According to the Ramayana this bridge was made in the same manner as a path is made at a water place by filling it up with materials.
Today the so called Ramsetu is just another weapon to misuse people religious feelings for personal political interests. How are we naming it Ramsetu? Where this name did came from? People who have actually read the facts should not be mislead by the rumors spread and should also spread awareness among others.
For development in Muslim countries, lot of mosques was demolished. Who can forget the Babri Masjid incident? Ramsetu is just another way of quenching the desire of getting more votes. For their self interests these politicians are becoming hurdles to their own country’s development. Religion is just a way of positioning themselves in politics. They don’t mind where the issue is coming from as long as it promised them more votes even if it insults the great Ramayana. If they don’t hesitate calling the 30km bridge, the 1288 km bridge mentioned as Nalsetu then you decide is it a religious issue or a political one.
