Opportunity will keep knocking. Be there to open the door, and you are in. If your argument is that you have no luck, opportunity never knocks for you, cut it out. Most successful people will tell you that you must make your own luck. Most of us believe in everyone else’s success is due to luck and our failures are all due to bad luck. The more you know the more luck you will have. So, instead of wasting precious time bemoaning your unlucky fate, prepare yourself for luck! Prepare yourself so that when an opportunity does come along, it won’t be dissipated because you are not ready, or don’t know enough to take advantage of it.
People seldom recognize opportunity because it comes disguised as hard work. There is really no substitute for work, you know, so accept the inevitable.
Many feel that once an opportunity has overlooked or wasted, there is no second chance. There is no allotted number of chances being sparsely handed out, one to a customer. Instead of complaining about your bad luck, go out and look for good luck by doing something about it. You will be surprised at how lucky you may get after working hard toward what you wish to attain or accomplish. All the talent, knowledge or skill in the world won’t help you any if you do not use them. Go out and act, go out and do something, don’t just sit there.
You can improve yourself if you really want to, if you are not afraid of a little work. The most difficult thing for one person to do is to change another person’s way of thinking and living. Many people who need not be failures, or at least could be more successful than they are, if they would allow their thinking and living patterns to be altered but only if they are willing to. To look is one thing. To see what you look at is another. To understand what you see is a third.
To learn from what you understand is still something else. But to act on what you learn is all that really matters.
All the ideas you read now and then or articles like these will be beneficial to those who do try them and apply them. Remember that just agreeing with it does not help you any. At the risk of seeming repetitious, nodding agreement and doing nothing about it is just as bad as, or worse than, actively disagreeing. No matter how full a reservoir of maxims one may possess and no matter how good one’s sentiments may be, if one has not taken advantage of every concrete opportunity to act, one’s character may remain unaffected for the better. With mere good intentions, hell is proverbially paved.
So next time you complain of being unlucky, try again. Look into the cause. Sometimes it may be the lady luck not shining at you but that’s not the end of the road. Opportunities will never stop coming your way, just recognize them and work hard and soon people would be talking about your good luck.
